What's That Mean?

Courage: *The heart as the seat of feeling, etc; disposition, nature. * What is in one's mind; purpose; desire, inclination. *The quality of character which shows itself in acting despite fear or lack of confidence.
Zaftig: Of a woman having a full rounded shape.
Watershed: *The line separating waters flowing into different rivers, basins, or seas. *A turning-point in affairs, a crucial time or occurrence.
Serenity: Contented tranquillity of mind, temper, countenance, etc.; inner calm; tranquillity or peacefullness of conditions etc.
Passion: *The sufferings of Christ between the night of the Last Supper and his death. *SUFFERING (obsolete). *The state or capacity of being acted on by external agents or forces. *EMOTION, emotions as distinguished from reason; intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction. *Ardent affection; LOVE; a strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept; sexual desire; an object of desire or deep interest.
Hedonism: The doctrine or the theory of ethics in which pleasure is regarded as the chief good or the proper aim. Frequently now also, devotion to or pursuit of pleasure.
Labyrinth: *A structure consisting of a complex network of tunnels, paths, etc., thru which it is difficult to find one's way, a maze. *A complex or confusing situation; an intricate system; a complicated arrangement.
Mesmeric: Pertaining to, characteristic of, producing, or produced by mesmerism; hypnotic, fascinating.
Quagmire: An awkward, complex or hazardous situation.
Metal: *Material, matter, substance; especially earthy matter. *Molten glass before it is blown or cast. *Hardened clay, shale; rock met with in the course of mining.
Wisdom: Knowledge, especially of an abstruse kind; learning, branches of knowledge.
Antinomian: *One who holds that under the gospel dispensation of grace the moral law is of no use or obligation because faith alone is necessary to salvation. *One who rejects a socially established morality.

Sunday: Figment 2008 on Governors Island - a game of Eye Spy

A few thoughts on the photos that follow:

I went out to my old stomping grounds, Governors Island, today to take part in the Figment 2008 Event. I found out some friends had volunteered to do energy work as part of the event, and tho I am still learning I asked to join them, as I was excited to go back to the island I had lived on as a child and practice in this place that I have always felt such a connection to. The Island has always felt like my hometown, even though it was a military base when I was there, and I only lived there for 4 years.

What a wonderful day! From the bright clear skies when we first arrived, to the thunderstorms that eventually forced us off the grass and into the abandoned church, every moment was delicious. And when the rain had passed, and my friend and I wandered out into the sunshine and wet grass, we began to explore just a few of the interesting exhibits and events going on in Nolan Park - which just happens to be the very part of the Island I used to live in.

What follows are just a few images from the day. I took many more photos on my regular camera, and I will be posting those to Flickr (per the request of the organizers) sometime soon. When I do, I will update this posting.
